You've made great use of gradients in this piece, but I can't help but notice that every one in the tree line in the upper left is independent - meaning that a horizontal line drawn through them all would show a few different colors. Not sure if that was intended, but it's different from how I'd do it.

Okay, this next bit is a rant. Forgive me.

I gotta say it - I've played the first part of 'Welcome to Ponyville', and it was not at all as advertized. They claim that you can do pretty much whatever you want, and every decision you make will effect future events in the game. Well, I played through what they released a few times - and the first time I was an ass to everyone. It wasn't on purpose, but the chat options all look alike and what you wind up saying is different from what you click on. Despite that, everyone in town treated me like a saint - including Angel Bunny. I mean really. Second, the 'do what you want' thing is bunk. The entire game is a series of scripted events, and any choice you make is irrelevant. Your species and gender don't effect gameplay, they give you a bunch of decisions that you can't actually make (like choosing which bed to make when the game gives you 300 bits and only one costs that little - and you HAVE to buy a bed), and decisions you 'can' make aren't actually real. At one point it asks 'where do you want to go today'? Great, some free playing! But not really - you have to choose every option before the day automatically ends and doing them in different orders has no effect. Also, I'm pretty sure your cutie mark is a big gray blob. I only got them to mention it once, someone said "is that what your cutie mark stands for? Adaptability?", and my AUTOMATIC response was "I don't wanna talk about it". What on earth could your talent be that you don't wanna talk about it?

Thank you!
Sadly that gradient "error" is not my fault. It's Inkscape fault... or maybe something else, I have no idea to be honest. In other words - It's a technical problem. It's occurs very often and I don't know how to fix it >.<

And about "Welcome to Ponyville" - Don't take me wrong but, I'm not a creator of it. I'm not even a part of the team. I made a BG for them, because I was asked to do that ^_^
And since I don't have time to complete this game, I don't wanna to share my opinion about it yet.

Have you tried creating an invisible portion there, then adding a layer underneath with the gradient?

I realize you're not involved, one of the good things about the game is that they're including works from artists all over. That being said, the part they've put out does not live up to expectations. From a publicity point of view, they need to either have not put this out, or make some serious changes between now and completion. It's nothing but bad press the way it is.

Hmm, It seems that it doesn't work or I'm doing it wrong.
Besides, If you look closely you can see that the original show have the same problem.
Also, you have to remember that Inkscape is still in development process (ver.0.48.2) So hopefully they will fix it in the future versions.

About expectations - To be honest I just got used to it. I mean, it's just how it works. I think it's a personal "thing". I'm a gamer for 13 years and I'm very skeptical and pessimistic about things that developers saying about their game,so I'm rarely disappointed when final product comes out.
And you know... some modern games gives you less freedom that "WtP" :P

I honestly don't know how to use inkscape, though I may want to learn since everybody and their grandma seems to use it. Heck, the program I use... I don't even use the pen tool to make my vector lines. I make straight lines then swiggle them out so they connect.

I've been gaming for a long time, but I haven't been on the forefront until rather recently. I had an NES until about a year after the PS2 came out, then I got one of those, and I got an Xbox360 about a year and a half ago, but I rarely ever use it. STEAM on the PC is what gets me new games, and (with the exception of Fallout 3 and the first Bioshock), most of the new stuff I get is underwhelming.

And for that last line... "most", not "some".

Inkscape is really easy to learn and use.
Of course it have some problems, but most of them you can bypass using some tricks.

And yep,
Modern games are kinda boring and "flat".
Obviously there are some exceptions, like Mirror's Edge or Portal, but I noticed that I have much more fun with indie games - S.P.A.Z, Terraria or Frozen Synapse(one of the greatest soundtracks ever).
And they are cheaper... a lot.
But I have to say, that I miss old games - RPGs like KOTOR, Planescape: Torment or Morrowind(Oblivion sucks badly and Skyrim is meh) or FPS with total carnage like Seriosu Sam.
